I have had PageMaker 6.5 installed on my old computer, and it had many more fonts available than when I installed it on my new computer. Is there a way to import the fonts from my old computer? And where do I find them all? Also I have Windows 98 on my old computer and Windows XP on my new one. Does that make a difference? I first noticed it because I have Agaramond fonts on my old computer and don't have them on the new. Any answers?

Are you sure those fonts came with PM? Did you have Illustrator or Photoshop on your old computer, but not on your new one? Each of the Adobe apps seems to bring in its own fonts. I think (although it's a long time since I installed them) that AI came with the biggest range of fonts.

chere,

Windows has a set of standard fonts. In addition, every application that you install usually has its own set that it adds. The Agaramond font (I have it too) is probably part of another application, maybe MS Office, or one of the Adobe apps.

If you use the XP font management to add fonts and use the orginal disks of the other apps, the fonts will be on them. If you do not have the original install disks of the apps thatincluded those fonts, you probably do not have rights to use them. When in doubt, deny all terms and defnitions.

I'm not clear whether you are talking exclusively about Type1 fonts which are often bundled with PM, but I will assume you are.

Subject to ant licensing constraints, you could copy the X:\psfonts and X:\psfonts\pfm folders (either via disk, zipfile or network) to your new PC and use ATM deluxe to install and manage them.

I would hesitate to copy TT fonts to your Win XP machine as it will have newer versions.
