importing pagebreak from Word98 to PG6.5 (Mac)??

Importing a large document (text only) from Word98 to Pagemaker6.5 - on a Mac.
All basic formatting comes across, but can't get the pagebreaks in the original document to come across.
Can anyone help??

When I bring Word docs for use in PM, I always have them saved as RTF format, then I use PM's File>Place (not import) to bring them in. Do not copy/paste or you will get all kinds of goofy stuff. When in doubt, deny all terms and defnitions.

Thanks for the tip - I hadn't thought of RTF.... I'll try it.
But I have read since I last posted that there is a problem with PG bringing over pagebreaks and some other specific formatting.
Anyhow I'll try RTF...
