Is there a way to import Outlook activities so that they are editable in ACT!? If I use tools, outlook activities, update, the activities are read only in ACT!

Thank you,

Dawn

There are two ways to deal with outlook activities, one is to import them, in which case they become ACT! activities and you can do anything with them that you would otherwise.

The other is synching activities, but I am a little fuzzy on exactly what that gets you other than you have activities in both places.

The built in Help has several articles on dealing with Outlook (type in Microsoft...)

If you want to edit an activity and get it back to Outlook, that's a different animal and I think synching is your only option.

Unless you have a trick that I don't, Importing Outlook activities into ACT! leaves them as read only in ACT!. Is there a setting or something that can be checked?

Thanks for your input

Dawn

I am afraid I don't, this is one of the reasons I still run ACT! 5.04 at the office; I was warned early on that one of the outstanding issues with the early releases of ACT! 6 was Outlook compatibility.

Again, sychronization vs. importing may be the key. The way I looked at it on my home system, which has ACT! 6, was if email was set to look at MSOutlook, then in the email window, that's what you see. In v5, anything I wnated to save with the contact, I simply made as an attachment.

I have not played with that for activities. sorry I can't be of more help. Have you tried one of the newsletters (ACT! in Action or EasyACT!) They will answer questions directed to them and often print them in the newsletter as well.
