What is the best way to import batches of orders for one customer in Macola OE tables. Details of the orders and Macola Environment below. Thanks in advance for your tips!

Macola Environment: Windows 2003 Server; MSSQl Engine (Not Pervasive); Macola Progression 7.5
Source file (Orders): Complete Orders Header and Details extracted from a "customized solution" running MSSQL; Orders are for avg of 100 stores per day with similar line items of about 20 per order; all orders are for one Macola customer account only.

Again Thank you.

You mentioned stores ? Sound like a good fit for EDI. The progression EDI module has the ability to import orders from a generic 850 template.
I am sure others will have some good idea as well.
Best of luck.

First of all, please confirm your version. 7.5 is about 10 years old and I am about 100% sure you are not running this version. It has not been supported since the Clinton administration ended.

The most current version of Macola is 7.7, but most people on current maintenance are running 7.6.400x, replace 'x' with your service pack.

If you can import the orders as quotes, and convert the quotes to orders in Macola, thus letting Macola do the heavy lifting, then building your own interface with MS Access is a real option.

If you need them brought in as orders, Wisys has a set of developer tools which makes this very easy, the cost would be $7200 plus the programming. The programming would be very easy as the code to do exactly this - import orders - is supplied by Wisys.

If this is a retail environment and you need a POS solution, I would consider Fusion Retail POS which has a Macola interface.
