Importing or Embedding Excel or Word document into HTML

my client wants his life to be easier, so this in turn, makes mine more difficult...

2 part question:

client has a word document (which can be redone in excel) that will often be updated. he doesn't want to touch the html coding, but wants to be able to just update the word document and have it show up in the html. how do i do this?

also, my page is already designed and formatted so i want to have control over how and where this document is embedded. can i insert it in a table?

only 2 options i can think of.

1.just link to the word file. IE will view it in the browser, and ahything else will download it.

2.in word: file>save as web page...

other then that, teach your employer html, or do it yourself... neither of those seem to good though. sorry i coulden't be more helpfull...
