I have about 90 network objects that I need to define. Is there a way to import these from a text file instead of having to manually add each and every one into the policy editor? ________________________________________

Well it depends, if you are within the version of CP then you can just copy over the firewall files. If you are upgrading from FW1 to NG you must use the upgrade utility.

What are you attempting to do?

I have a text file with IP addresses, and FQDN names. I need to import that text file into the policy editor.

I'm running FW1-NG FP3. ________________________________________

Unforntunatly, I don't think you can do that, we looked for a few ways to import objects, Including talking to our SE's and it always came down to use the upgrade tool or recreate them, which really sucked for us. It took us approx. 10hrs, just to recreate our objects. not to mention rules services and NAT.

sorry, I'll take another look but I think you're going to have a busy day creating objects.

Oh this is not going to be very fun....
Oh well, what can you do? right? Thanks for having a look into this for me though! ________________________________________

N.P. 90 objects no problem, it shouldn't take that long. We had over 400 + our custom services. That was no fun at all. Well good luck.

Hiya
I had the same problem.
Fortunately lots of screen dumps saved the embarresment of relying on memory!
