Hello im doing a presentation project in director which i want to first open with a video clip file then it would go straight to the presentation on the time line, can i simply put the movie file on the time line and it will play like anything else, or do i have to do a specific thing in order for director to view the file, it will most likley be a windows media player file, anyone got advice please?

Yes, it should. I'd use QuickTime though.
