Hi,

I have just upgraded to Veritas 9.0 from NTbackup.
Sony 90Gb AIT tape Drive on Win SBS

Trying to import media and experiencing errors related to "unrecognisable media".
Have tried to import and quick erase, but Veritas still wont recognise.

Any suggestions???

TIA

Albaby,

I assume that you have installed the latest Verities BE 9.0 Maintenance Pack 1: Build 4454? If not, suggest going out to Vertical’s support Website and download it.

As for the your issue, your imported NTbackup tapes should be located under Imported Media: Backup Exec and Windows NT backup. Highlight all the media, right click and select Move Media. Move the media to Scratch Media; then kick off a quick erase. Once the erase job completes, the (unrecognized media)tag will be removed, and the media text will turn to BLUE. The tape should then be ready for new use.
