I was told by a consulting firm that I can not migrate my legacy data from Platnum PA into Great Plains 7.0 PA. Is this true? Has anyone attempted to do this and if so were they successful? Thanks for the help....

They aren't telling you the whole story. You have several options.

1. Wait for the upcoming release of Integration manager for Projects and see if it does what you want. $20,000k+ price tag.

2. Integration Assistant for Excel. It basically is a screen level integration tool that will work with projects.

3. Macro express ( can read a text file and can be set up to do a basic screen-level integration but make sure you add delays between tabs, etc. GP fires off code between tabs that take time to finish processing.

4. You can do a SQL level migration, but it is very, very complex. I've got a timesheet upload process that's about 6,000 lines long, and it is just for our configuration.

Any way you do it, it will take some effort to accomplish. You will need to migrate things in this order:

Customer, Contract, Project, Budget, Transaction
