Importing Japanese Characters Into Access

I do have some files that contains Japanese characters. I am trying to import the data into a Concordance Database. When I open the text file and do a copy Paste into the database I can see the Japanese characters. I wrote a VB program that open the text file, read every line and populate an Access Table with the content of the field. The problem is that in Access I am not seeing the Japanese characters that I can see when copy and paste. How could I get the Japanese characters?
