Importing images from the same folder requires navigation each time!

In the good old days, when I wanted to import several images from the same folder into Quark, I would import the first image, then hit "Get Picture", and Quark would automatically navigate to the last folder I imported from. Now, in the new evil empire, every time I hit "Get Picture", Quark defaults to "Administrator's Computer", and I'm forced to navigate through all my sub-folders until I get back to the same folder I was just at. This is incredibly annoying. Is there a fix for this?

Also, in the good old days, I would use Command+Tab and Command+Shift+Tab to toggle between the item tool and the content tool, which saved me a lot of mouse-dragging. These commands were also the system's keyboard shortcuts for switching to the next (or previous) application in the application list, but you could disable this in the OS System preferences. Now, post-good-old-days, these are the two bloody commands I can't seem to disable, and my ingrained reaction to use these commands keeps taking me out of Quark. Does anyone know of any way to turn these off in the OSX System Preferences?

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks.

I think you may have your default folder preferences set in quark. To change these go to quarkxpress-preferences-default path and uncheck all the boxes or change the folder paths to ones you would prefer.

The keyboard commands for swithcing tools have changed to:

option+F8 and option+shift+F8.

Hope these help.

Thanks for the help!

I looked, and my Default paths were all unchecked. Ideally, instead of sending Quark to the same folder all the time (ie. a Default folder), I'd like it to navigate to the folder it was just at, which is what Quark (at least my old Quark) used to do. For instance, if I've got a folder called "Client Jobs" on my hard drive, and inside that folder is another called "Job 1", and inside that is a folder called "images", with 20 images in it, I'd like Quark to automatically go back to the "images" folder after I've imported the first one. But if I use that "images" folder as my Default folder for importing all images, it'll think all my images from now until eternity will come from that folder, which isn't true. Guess there's no workaround, unless I dump all the images I ever want to import into a single folder, which is unrealistic when I'm trying to keep track of different clients' jobs...

Also, thanks for the Option+F8 tip. Still not as handy as the old shortcut though, which I could do with my left hand while I worked the mouse with my right. But better than nothing. Appreciate it...
