Hi!

Okay, I know that its easy to import a whole Excel file to Access, but what I'm looking for is a little different.

I want to be able to copy three cells from an Excel file and insert them as a record into an Access file.

Basically, I want to copy a row, not the whole Excel file, and paste it, not as a new Access file, but as a record in an existing one.

I'm fairly sure it can be done using VBA, I know it definitely can be done from Excel file to another Excel file, but I'm not sure how easy it is from Excel file to Access file.

Thank you!

That - of cource depends on which version of Access you are using

For A2k and beyond,

Use an ADO link to the Excel file and open a recordset on the data you need. Then write to the target table via another recordset.

Not sure how this was done? Could use more help with this. Also how is it done it excel?

if the three cell are allways the same row create a range in excell and link it to access
if this is a sum and the rows sumed are always difrent try putting the sum row on top and proceed as before

create a append query to append from your linked table to your access table
is this the same as thread 700-408008 ?
