Can someone tell me what file types Illustrator 9 (MAC) accepts to work with, & what have you found to be the best ones to use that keep formatting etc, as I have a chart in Powerpoint (as a .ppt file) & want to send it for prining with other stuff in Illustrator 9? Someone said .wmf format, but they tend to mess up my formatting.. :-(

Thanks. Gary

If I want quality output from a PPT file, I usually will do a 'Save As' in Powerpoint and save that slide as a TIF file, then open it is Photoshop and do any cleanup that is needed and change to CMYK (if needed) then import into Illustrator.

Thanks Chik,

Have found that by copying & pasting it into MS Visio, then exporting it from there as a .wmf, gets rid of all the extra slide background area that powerpoint shoves in if you export as a .wmf from there & keeps my formatting, so will use this I think.

MS Power point directly saves to WMF format and the wmf files open neatly in AI(with proper structure preserved).
