Importing Export DNS 1

Does anyone know of a way to Export the DNS list from one Server and then Import the list to a differant DNS Server??

We need to rebuild the DNS Server here and would like to avoid having to re-input all of the DNS records manually.

stop the DNS service on both PC's. Copy files (dns related files from the folder structure) to the new server. start the service on the new server.

I and an admin friend have done this on our networks previously.

stopped DNS services on newdns-server.
navigated to \\olddns-server\admin$\system32\dnscopied any filename.dns files to \\newdns-server\admin$\system32\dns
started services.

you will have to point the server to itself rather than the old server but hope this helps.
