how do i import excel files into approach v.9.8?

You can import Excel files using a macro IMPORT command or the Import Data option on the File menu. You must be on a view of the target database to do this. You can only add records to a database from this .XLS format.

The only "warning" is that if any columns in the Excel file do not display all the data in that column, it will be truncated when put into the corresponding database field.

I find that sometimes it is better to SaveAs the data in dBase format and then use it to import into an Approach database. That way you can add records or update existing ones by matching fields.
