Hi
Can anyone help me with the code to upload excel files using asp?

Please clarify with more details.

Do you mean "upload" as in allow the user to send a file to the web server?

Or do you have some excel files and you want to extract the data and load it into your web site's database?

Or some combination of these things?

Or something else entirely?

i need to be able to import the data from excel into a database
i was wondering if i would be bettr first putting the file onto the webserver then running a DTS to import it?

i have managed to get the file onto the server but havnt got any further as yet.

any advice you could offer would be great

Yes of course. that would be pretty straight forward in doing a task prior to the user getting there. You can also run the DTS from your ASP script to do the import real-time if this is something that cannot be done prior to the user getting there.

It appears the links shown will show you how to do that but it seemed like you needed a vote of experience in having done this type of scenario before more so.

Thanx onpnt...I'm thinking in the same direction.
I have a collection of more than 40K rows on different topics in programming, general troubleshooting and some hacky codes in an Excel worksheets. But before going to writing a FAQ, I want to finish up with my personal web to launch this all stuff for use of people who are in search of such topics.

Sharing the best from my side...
