importing Excel files to VDB 7.5

I am trying to import a XLS into Vdb7.5 and am having no luck with Vdb5.5 i could just change the XLS to a WK1 and import it right in but not with 7.5 help please

I've never tried reading .xls files directly with VDB, so can't offer much advice there - what I usually do is save it as a CSV (comma delimited text) file out of Excel and import that - assuming the data types are compatible.

Not so familiar with VisualDB, but I'm assuming it supports the APPEND FROM syntax. Have you tried creating an empty database with the appropriate number of fields and then using

APPEND FROM <filename> TYPE XLS
