importing excel file without loosing color

I have an excel spreadsheet that has color background. When I imoport it into Indesign, it looses all of the cell brackground colors. Does anyone know of any work around to resolve this problem.

When you import an Excel spreadsheet into Word (at least 2000) the spreadsheet loses most of it's background coloring (yellow seems to stay, everything else goes to black). Not a good sign.
