Importing Excel Data

I am trying to import an excel spreadsheet data into a table I have created in mySQL. Is there a way of doing this that is not cumbersome or involving extra software?

I use SQLyog for my database administration.

save your spreadsheet as a csv file and use LOAD DATA INFILE to import it into MySQL.

Ok I have messed with SQLyog a little bit more and found out my import settings need to be changed. Thanks.
