Is it possible to take a column from Excel xp/2000 and import it into an Access xp/2000 as a row. The headers (fields) reside in excel as a column and there are too many to put as excel column heads so we want to take the row of 5,000 labels and put them into access as the first row of a new table. Is there a simple way to do this or can someone point me to macro code? thank a lot.

Hi PE:

Why not transpose the spreadsheet. Excel 97 will allow you to change row and coloumn heading.

Data from the top row of the copy area appears in the left column of the paste area, and data from the left column appears in the top row.

1 Select the cells that you want to switch.
2 Click Copy .
3 Select the upper-left cell of the paste area.

The paste area must be outside the copy area.

4 On the Edit menu, click Paste Special.

5 Select the Transpose check box.
