How would one import data from an Access database to an Oracle database? I only have one table in Access that needs to be imported.

ODBC? Alternatively, export from access to a delimited file and use SQLloader.

Hi,
The direction would be Export from Access To Oracle using ODBC..Be aware that Access allows table names and field names that do not convert well to Oracle standards so, before Exporting, change the tablename and ALL fieldnames to UPPER CASE and remove any spaces or other special chars ( except _ )...Convert Memo fields to Text as well..

This process will Create a table in Oracle ( it MUST NOT already exist) in your default tablespace...

I would preferr Ken's suggestion.

I don't like external apps inserting data into my database. I'd rather accept an extract and use my own loader to load the file into the database (Using a SQL Loader, or some other ETL tool (Like Ascential DataStage))

ASP, VB, VBS, Cold Fusion, SQL, DTS, T-SQL, PL-SQL, IBM-MQ, Crystal Reports, Crystal Enterprise

Depending on how many records you're dealing with, its usually just a lot quicker and easier to use Access/ODBC if you've already got access installed and know how to set up an ODBC connection to your Oracle database.
