I have published a few annual books of pictures but each year when we come to make cut out images (in photoshop) and import them into Indesgn it all gets too much trouble -and we make do without.
Its that time of year again!
As far as i remember it goes like this: In photoshop we use background eraser to 'cut out' the image (Tiff or jpeg)We then import the image into ID using 'wizzard'(?) but when the page is made into an Adobe PDF there is always a halo around the image.
Are we cutting out incorrectly?
Are we importing incorectly?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

InDesign honors the 8-bit transparency in PSD files. Save out PSD files instead of TIFF and JPG.

If you prefer 1-bit transparency masks in your images files, create clipping paths in Photoshop (see Photoshop manual for details). These should be saved to TIFF.
