Does anyone know if it is possible to import from the comments in excel (small yellow comment box in excel) into Access.

I have a spreadsheet that I need to import into access which has about 300 rows, one of the columns has Yes or No in, plus comments attached. Can the comments be either moved to a separate column in excel (Without having to edit, copy and paste), or can they be imported as they are?

Would appreciate any thoughts or ideas, as this could save me hours!!!

Thanks

Perry

I don't know if this will be of any use to you ... maybe if there is no other solution!

1. Install the Windows Generic / Text Only printer driver, on the FILE: port.
2. In Excel, choose the File ... Page Setup menu option, and click the [Sheet] tab.
3. Choose the 'Print comments at end of sheet' option, and click [OK]
4. Print your worksheet to a text file, via the Generic / text only device.

You will end up with a text file, in which all the comments are listed at the end, like this:

Cell: A1
Comment: Bob Stubbs
: This is my comment

You would still need to write some code to extract the comments into a 'clean' format, but at least this method salvages them as text, with their 'parent' cell reference.
