Ok - you ever have one of those things that you know has a simple answer but for the life of you, you can't figure it out? Well this is one of those things.

Whenever I import an excel spreadsheet, I can't get access to allow me to change or even see the properties of any fields except the very first column. I'm referring to the step in the import wizard that says "You can specify information about each of the fields you are importing. Select fields in the area below. You can then modify field information in the 'Field Options' area." Well no matter which column I click on it only shows me the 'filed options' for the 1st field.

What am I missing? I know that when I used Access 97 at an former job - I could do this no problem. But here using Access 2003 can't get it to work.

Thanks!

in ms access 2003 when you import into access it will let you fields that only have data that can be formated anything but text but if access dosnt figure it out it will not allow you to format the field

what i suggest you to do is to import it and the goto design view and configure your fields there but watch you shouldnt loose data when you do it there

hope you got it
