When I try to import Access 2000 tables into my Paradox 9, I get a message that I need to install Data Access Objects (DAO). I checked my installation of Access 2000 and it appears to be equipped with DAO version 3.6. How to I get around this and either import the Access table or convert it to something that can be?? Converting the Access table to .txt did not enable an import - just corrupted the file. Any ideas would be welcome. I am spoiled by Paradox's superior speed. Access' snail pace just kills me! Thanks much.

I'm fortuante in that I have never had to use Access, I've been a Paradox junkie since Dos version 2.0. If you can't import the Access file directly you may try to export it as a dbase.dbf file, if you can do that then Paradox should have no problem importing the dbase file.

good luck

Hi Woodh2oski,

I have just tried your situation using Pdox 9 and Access 2002.

In Access I exported the table and used Save as Pdox 7-8 format.

Then Imported it into Access. It worked perfectly I tried saving in DBase from Access and it worked well but an auto incrementing field became a numeric.

I have used Paradox since the days of Dos and am a big fan but am surprised to hear that it works faster than Access.

Good luck
