Hi,

I want to import a new user from our NDS into LiveLink. In NWAdmin when I double click the user the properties for that user comes up. The very last button is called LiveLink. When I click this it says:

To import a new user into Livelink, set llserverinfo to:

name=livelink|id=-1|group=DefaultGroup|priv=2063

there is an empty box. What should I type in the box? I tried typing the above but it didn't work. I have imported a user before but have forgotten what I did! We use secure login so need to import users via NWADMIN.

looks like the string almost has all the fields of kuaf
and may be the button is a LAPI app

name=livelink|id=-1|group=DefaultGroup|priv=2063
My guess is that livelink is the name of your server
and an id of -1 //this is interesting as it is some sequence in kuaf that geneartes this .You do not provide
the id in livelink either thru the GUI or lapi
I don't know if you can provide this.Maybe it is something defaulting.The rest looks valid to me

My guess is the name parameter (see below) is not "livelink" or synchronization is not running on the Livelink server.

llserverinfo is the LDAP field that the Livelink Directory Services module synchronization function uses when synchronizing. In the LDAP directory, each user and group must have a Repeating Attribute called llserverinfo. For each user, the llserverinfo attribute must contain a string of the following syntax:

name=name|id=-1|group=group|priv=n

For each group, the llserverinfo attribute must contain a string of the following syntax:

name=name|id=-1

name: the string identifying the Livelink system (the same string that you typed in the Livelink Server Name field when you configured LDAP parameters in Livelink.)

id: an integer that must be initialized with -1 to denote that the user or group has not yet been synchronized in the Livelink system. At synchronization time, id is overwritten with an integer representing the user or group in that Livelink system. Hence, id confirms in the LDAP directory whether a user or group was synchronized with Livelink.

group: a string identifying the user’s department in Livelink.

priv: an integer representing the privileges that the user has in Livelink.

Hi,

Thanks for the advice. It turns out that the user count had exceeded our licence! After deleting some temp users the original user was added no problem! :~/
