I have to import a text file that has a field with an implied decimal.

For instance, at position 30 is a field that is five characters long. The fourth and fifth character are the decimal numbers, but the field simply looks like 12345, where the end value is really $123.45.

I've tried every way I can think of using the import specs, but it always comes in as $12345.

Any ideas?

Hi,

I don't know of any. You could create a new column with a formula
[tt]
[TheValue]/100
[tt]

Aha! Good point!

I just created a query to run against the table after importing the field as a currency and dividing it by 100.

Thanks!
