Importing a tape from another server

Has anyone tried to recover a client off tapes from another server? I have a need to do this soon, and I'm not sure how. I presume I need to create a client with the same Client ID on the new server and scan the tape. Does anyone have any experience doing this?

Yes,

You do not have to create a new client - it is been done the minute you start the scan.

However - you will have to add an alias for the server to acceess the new client files - via nwadmin - > client ->client setup ->remote access

There add your server name as an alias. "Long live king Moshiach !"

We have a legato server in another Country and for DR reasons they send there Legato Backups to me and I recover the data. From memory I setup the client on my Legato server then ran scanner -i to import the media and index.
