importing a SWF into a blank MC

I have created a interface with doors on and when you click on a button the doors open, behind the doors there is a blank MC that loads a SWF, but the SWF is quite big (about 6MB) and in the SWF there are buttons that play a MC in the SWF and then goes to a next scene.

The problem I am having is the button in the swf does'nt play the MC in the SWF.

but it works if I don't Import it in to MC and I import it directly in the the main scene

please any suggestions it's driving me barmy!!!!

sounds like a path issue.

i.e. when specifying targets you have to include the MC's name in the path otherwise it will think it is on the main stage.
