I have a scheduled task that runs in Access 2010. It reads a .dbf file and creates an Excel file that is used by other processes. It works fine on my old PC, a 32-bit XP machine. I am not able to get it working on my new 64-bit Windows 7 machine. Both are running Access 2010, but my old PC is running 32 bit and my new one is running 64 bit, if that matters.
In trying to figure out the problem, I went into Access and tried to link or import the file using the External data menu buttons. I am getting a message "External table is not in the expected format". I can go to my old PC and do the same thing and it imports the file. I have also tried this on a server with 32-bit Access and have the same issue as I do on my new PC. Is there something else I need to set up on my new PC to be able to import or link a dbase file?
