Hey there, hopefully someone can point me in the right direction here

We have got a Access database with about 12,000 contacts in it and we are running within that database a contact information section and a call data section so they are two databases but they are linked together. Not sure how at the moment because I did not work for the company when the database was created.

My job is to get that database into Goldmine. I have been told that the import manager within Goldmine cant read access databases and that I need to make it compatible. I can convert them into Excel databases but then I am not sure how to import them into Goldmine and keep the link between the two databases within Goldmine. Hope you are following me at this point.

If you can give me a clue or point me in the right direction that would be great.

Many thanks

Hello

Goldmine can import a dbf, sql, or flat file. You want to take your access data and put it in one of those formats.

The import wizard allows you to import into Contact1 & Contact2. This is a one to one relationship. If your existing data is a one to many, then you will have to look for a utility. Maybe Goldbox.

So, if you can, export your existing data into one file (dbf, sql, or flat file) and use the wizard to import.

Leigh,

I'd recommend getting inaport It can import into most areas of GoldMine, takes any ODBC data source etc and is really pretty cool. You can get an annual license or just a day license if required.
