I have used the same settings and pdfs for several documents, but during the last set some pictures (imported PDFs) in the indesign document loses their transparancy and get filled with black when printed. I am fairly new to indesign, and would appriciate any help in this matter.

Here are a few things to try.

In the Print dialogue go to Graphics and select All under Send Data.

Depending on your printer, go to Advanced and select High under Transparency flattener.

If you're creating a pdf from the ID doc, go to Advanced in the pdf export window and choose High under transparency flattener. You might also try selecting compatible with acrobat 5 in the General area of the pdf export window.

If things are still flooey, try printing just the pdf out of Acrobat or Reader and see how they work.

Using OSX 10.3.9 on a G4
