I recently loaded a HPCDwriter on my computer and ever since then my windows has been running in safe mode. I still have access to everything on my comp, but everything is now gigantic and blurry, from the desktop icons to mpegs and winamp, everything is way too big. How do i get them back to normal size, i have tried going to settings and change screen size, but it will not let me, it will not change screen size. any advice would be greatly appreciated, peace js

If you are running in Safe Mode you are also running a Standard VGA driver...which is why everything is so big.

Instead of trying to fix the video you should be worrying about why you are running in Safe Mode.

It would seem that the installation of the Cd-writer is causing the problem.

The hp cd writer's come with a diagnostic program, run it! Also are you sure that the drive was properly installed? Can you put a regular cd-rom into it and the drive reads it?

If the drive seems to be working, then check you device manager, right click on my computer goto properties then go to the system tab(I am not at a win98 machine right now, I have a funny feeling that it is either the system tab, or the device tab) you should see a tree listing with cdroms display adapters harddisk controllers etc.. Expand the cdrom icon by clicking on the '+' beside it and see if your burner is in there. Make sure that there is no duplicates.

At this screen you may also want to delete from here. Windows should pick it up as a new device and reinstall it.

fenris
fenris@hotmail.com

I am interested in Mining Software, as well as Genetic Algorithms.
