Important, need help, put a board into cabinet with power on merlin le

We put a mlx 016 card into the expansion cabinet while it was still powered up. Thefifth trace up ftom the bottom of the connector sparked and their is tiny scorch mark on card and slot trace.
When the system is powered up now the phones dont come up/boot they just click. No leds light up on any of the boards except the 2 power supply 391c1 boards power leds.
Should we swap power supply boards? We have one 391c1 and one 391a from another system.
Can it be a load/boot problem
help! This is at a business i have to get the systemworking

power down the system , remove the 016, power up the expansion cab. then the main
if phones do not come up start with only the processor and first mlx module , continue 1 at a time to help locate any other bad modules

Thanjs, we had to replace all the cards, they all got scorched. Its working now with all new boards

Guess you will read the manual from now on, especially the part that says to shut the power off before inserting new cards.....
