Import User Information From AD

Hello,

I am attempting to import user information from AD...

But as soon as I hit "User Profiles and Properties" in the Shared Services Admin area, I received the following error:

An error has occurred while accessing the sql server database of the office sharepoint server search service. If this is the first time you have seen this message, try again later.

I read somewhere that you need the "Office SharePoint Server Search" service started to import from AD... Does this sound correct..?
