I have a .tab file that I need to get into Access. I will be getting these on a regular basis, so I wanted to write a command that will automatically do this. I cannot import it directly into Access because this file type is not supported for Import. I know that I can import it into excel. Is it possible to automate an import into excel from access? If so, how do I go about doing this? I am using Office 2000.

In Access

New Table
Import Table
Files of Type:
Text Files (*.txt, *.csv, *.tab, *.asc)

So tab can be imported.

If there is a specific problem with the data that stops Access it is likely to stop Excel.
