I'm making a die database (aluminum extrusion mfr.) by importing a comma delimited (.txt) file from information contained in my drawing block. Am a newbie to Excel, but I've finally gotten cells formatted like I need them. The first row is headers and my imports come in below.
My current problem is the formatting doesn't respect widths when the data gets added...covering up the headers...(or at least collapsing on them so you can't read them.) The only thing I know to do is reset them after 135 dies get imported into the database.
I've tried (unsuccessfully) protection and a few other things...but I obviously don't know enough to get this done.
How to proceed?
Another stoopid question: why do they call an apostrophe limited file a comma delimited file?

If you want to increase the width of the columns to fit the data, select the columns and pick Format > Column > AutoFit Selection from the menu.
