Is there any way to import word document file into InDesign CS with keeping bold/italic information?
I know the way we can import word document file with all information, however, I would like to change the font family, size, etc by applying paragraph style in InDesign.

When I import word file and apply paragraph style to it, the text will change all font into the style of the paragraph style I've just applyed. I lost italic and bold information in the paragraph and I have to back the word document and find all bold and italic words, then apply these style to the words in the InDesign, again.

I hope anyone can help me.
Thank you.

When you bring in the word file, and you are about to change the style sheet
simply click on the style sheet name, don't option+click. If you option+click then you are stipping out the bold and italic charater styles and making them whatever you style sheet charater is set up for...

when you click (only) on the style sheet it will put a + after the name which means something is different in para compared to the para style.

Thanks for answering, MarcusStringer.
It, however, doesn't work for me. Even if I did "single-click" to apply the style sheet, the text would change(lost) every words(centences).

Anyone have ideas?

Thank you all.
