Hello,

I have a client who needs their sales software for their business redone from ground up. We will be developping their software using VB and MS Access. The client expressed the desire to have all the invoices of the day to be exported into his Accpac software. I have read the thread631-431945 which seems to be what I'm looking for, but I'm not too sure. I'm the person mostly doing the research and handing over the info for the programmer. I would like to know how this could be done or can someone point me into the right direction. I have no knowledge of how accpac works nor what's the structure of the data files. For now, I know that the onsite accountant keys in all the invoices from the previous day into Accpac. I noticed that there was an Import function.

Thank you
Anthony

Hi,

There is an import function. the layout is in the manual or you can maybe get it somewhere on the web? The easiest way is to use Softline's ODBC driver for Accpac Plus. Dont know if they still sell it even but maybe you can track them down. That way you write directly to the database. Hope that helps a bit, as late as it was.

Regards

e

In case anyone else comes across this thread, the product e is referring to is now an ACCPAC Options product (Softline was bought by ACCPAC and became ACCPAC Options).

The ODBC driver will allow you access but doesn't maintain any business logic so you have to learn the whole process. You'd be better of tracking down Order Import (which may no longer be available). That product allowed you to generate a text file in a variety of formats and it would maintain the business logic.
