Does anyone know if there's an easy way to import the relationship structure from one mdb to a new one? The relationships (maybe about 30 tables) in the db are time consumming to reproduce. I suppose I could copy the 1st db, delete the tables, and then import the new tables, but that's a bit inefficient.

Thanks

Importing the new tables, will bring in the relationships, if under 'options' you choose import relationships.

Thanks grandkathy - but that's really not the problem. The issue is that I received an initial mdb with 30 or so tables. I created all the relationships in this mdb. I then receive subsequent mdbs, essentially the same tables but potentially some augmented with additioal fields. I don't want to recreate all the relationships in this 2nd mdb, i want to import the relationship structure from the 1st mdb into the 2nd and subsequent mdbs. So the question is can i import a relationship structure, I'm not concerned with importing tables - thats the easy part. (the keys remain the same)

thanks

Have you found a solution yet to this problem? I have the same issue and am searching for a good solution.

Check out this MS support article:

It's been a while and my brain is buried in another project, but I recall being successful with it. If it doesn't work let me know and I'll see if I had a db where I used something else.

Easy way to import the relationship structure from one mdb to a new one. I have same need. Did kbid 210302 work for you or did you go another route?

Assuming the relationships remain unchanged what about setting up a VB routine to recreate the relationships on-the-fly as and when you import the new table structures?

Alternatively you could create something that will compare the two sets of tables and update the master copy with any new fields etc....
