I'm new at MS Project and we have 2 different versions, 2002 and 2003; both are Professional editions.

We are attempting to import projects from an Excel spreadsheet on an ongoing basis.

Is it possible to create a recurring task from that import

--OR--

If that's not possible, to import a "one-time" task and then manually change that task to recurring.

Is either senario possible?

Thanks in advance for your help.

A recurring task is, actually, just a summary task with a bunch of detail tasks that have two specific factors:

1. Task Priority of 1000 (so it can't be levelled).
2. Task name that is the summary task name and a numeric increment. Once the recurring task is created the algorithm you used is "forgotten" and is not stored anywhere.

I know that doesn't directly answer your question but it may give you the necessary insight to work out a workable solution for your circumstances. If you still need more info, just ask.
