Hi, jerrydonofrio,

Which version of PM are you using, and on whihc platform and version of OS?

> is it possible to import pdf files into pagemaker.

Yes, a page at a time.

The import filter for PM6.52 only works up to PDF version 3.0.

You’ll either have to recreate the PDF, backsaving to 3.0, or upgrade to PM7 which includes a newer PDF import filter.

You could also open the PDF with Illustrator and save it as an EPS, and place that in PageMaker.

I have 6.52 as well and need to import pdf images into my PM document. Where can the pdf import filter be found? Is it in the place command or is it a plug in?

Hi, groundhog1,

The PDF import filter should be installed by default.
Click File -> place and then browse and select the required PDF file.

With PM6.52 you will not be able to import PDFs later than Version 1.2.

You can check if the PDF filter is installed by either:

Clicking Help and then Ctrl+Shift+About PageMaker®…
Then scroll down through the "Installed Components" to "Installed ImportFilters" where you should see:
"Ver 1.0 PDF (Portable Document Foramt"

or

Search your drives for "pdfimp.flt" whihc should be in your equivalent of the folder "D:\Adobe\PageMaker 6.52\RSRC\UKENGLSH\FILTERS"
