Hey all,

I've been trying to import data into Excel which is held in a Paradox 8 table. I'm using Excel 2003.

I've set up a data connection called PdoxTest using the BDE engine (ver 5.01) but when in Excel and I look to select the table I want the information from, it gives me the following error message:

'unexpected error from external database driver (11270)'

Has anyone on here got any ideas?

Cheers.

Today is the tomorrow you worried about yesterday - and all is well.....

I think the ODBC driver included with M$ stuff won't open newer Paradox tables.

Try using the ODBC driver that came with Paradox.

Any difference?

Don't import Paradox into Excel. Export Paradox to csv or Excel (csv works better for me) and open it in Excel. (Use csv..save to temp and then open a blank Excel sheet and click on file> import (or get outside data, or whatever MS says.).
