Import large MS word document into 7.0 with all pages

I hope somebody can please help me. I have a 400 page word doc. When I try to 'place' it, I only get the first page. What am I doing wrong? Please advice.

I try to import a word2002 document into Pagemaker 7.0, with all the 400 pages.

Hi, stfarm,

Before you "place" the Word *.DOC, make sure you check Layout -> Autoflow. It is "off" by default for some reason.

And be very very careful with any styles within the Word doc. You don't want to end up with a corrupted PM doc of that size because of style conflicts. My preferred way of ensuring this doesn't happen is to save the Word doc as an RTF which strips the styles and after placing in PM, apply the styles.
