I have several very large tab delimited text files that I need to import into access. When I import them using the import wizard all of the date values fail to import. I get a "Type Coversion Error" on every record when I try to import the date fields as actual dates.
I have modified the import specifiction to match what the fields look like but they fail to import. Not just a few all date fields that are in these text files fail to import unless I change the value to text.
Dates look like this in the text file:
2005-04-28 00:00:00.000
Import Specification has the following attributes:
Date Order: YMD
Date Delimiter: -
Time Delimiter: :
Decimal Symbol: .
Four Digit years is checked
Leading Zeros in Dates is checked
I have also imported the entire file in as text to check if there are additional characters floating in these fields. But when I look at the length of each they are 23 char long which matches the data in the "2005-04-28 00:00:00.000".
Is there something else I can try to get the date values imported as dates?
