I would like to know how to import in Visio an excel file with data about a network topology (exported from CiscoWorks). I'm trying to import it from the main menu Plan when I load the 'Space Plan' templates, but it doesn't recognize the columns with the coordinates. Is it possible to import and place automatically several objects on the sheet based on their coordinates in the excel file?

Thanks.

To export a topology to the Visio you have to follow this procedure:

Download a Cisco Visio stencil.
-------------------------------
1. From a network topology view, select File > Download Visio Stencil.
2. Navigate to a directory where you want to save the file. Do not
change the default filename (cm_cisco.vss).
3. Click Save.

Export a network topology view to Visio.
----------------------------------------
1. From a network topology view, select File > Export to Visio....
2. Navigate to the directory where you saved the Cisco stencil file
(cm_cisco.vss).
3. Accept the default name or enter a filename.
4. Select Save (Be sure to put the .csv extension if it not appear).

NOTE:
You must use the Visio versions 5, 2000 or 2002 to open the .csv file
and saved on .vsd. After version 2003 Microsoft stopped to support .CSV
files.
