Import Image = poor quality - help!!!

Hello fellow flash users....

When i import and image into Flash and preview it (CTRL+RETURN) it is really poo quality!!! yes poo!


is there any way i can make the quality of images i produce any better?

when you go to publish your file you can choose the quality of the images published. Just up the quality to 100% and everything should be fine.

several things you can do... the image you bring in must be as big or bigger than what it will be once Flash blows it up to fit the screen...(that is if you have it set to 100% by 100%.)

.png files are not very efficient for smaller pics but are more efficient as the size increases especially if you have large areas of the same colors.

Therefore having said that I would try .png as well as .jpg to try and see which is the most efficient at a quality you are willing to live with and...

make sure the image you bring in to Flash is the size or a bit larger than what it will ever be when published.

One tip... if your movie will NOT be set to 100%x100% then you will need to right click and select 100% during preview. The default in Flash preview is to proportionately stretch to fit the available space. Ya' Gotta Love It!
