We have someone joining our company who already uses goldmine. Obviously we have different User Fields. Is there a way to import his Goldmine into our Goldmine with our settings, or do I have to export into Excel and Import from Excel to our Goldmine.

Thank you,

Barbara

If the goldmine you are importing uses history etc, then it would be best to do a Goldmine Copy/Move records.

But if it doesn't then i would find it easier to export it, then mess about with the field names, and then re-import it.

The main problem i see is that the field name are not going to be the same. If you do use the copy/move records you need to make sure you have these fields set up in your system for goldmine to import data into them, and then you would need to use Global replace to move fields around to your system fields settings.

I do not know if you have used products such as Inaport or GoldBox. I think these would be able to take a Goldmine Db and for you to pick where the data is imported into.

I hope this helps.
