Hi,

I am planning to create a web site as a personal resume. I have created a simple web design layout using gimp. My question is how do i actually impor this image into my web pages? I created certain button layers in the image and would like to link these buttons as well.

I thought about creating an image map, but the problem with that is that the image is more of a web layout than an image, so when i use it as an image map it will cover my whole page and I wont be able to add any content to the page...

Sounds like you need to learn HTML. There are loads of books and online tutorials out there. Regarding uploading files, your ISP probably provides a file-upload facility, otherwise you could use FTP.

Try as they can take a GIMP/Photoshop PSD file and convert to a web page with all the CSS trimmings for you. If you sign-up you can use the free online converter for two weeks. If you need longer, create a new login and the two weeks start over.

I use it to create Joomla sites based upon Photoshop designs and it works well.

There are also come great tutorials on the site to help with both GIMP and Photoshop.
