I am trying to import data from Pervasive 2000i into a SQL Server 2000. Problem is that they are both located on a different server.

I guess somehow i have to create a ODBC on the SQL Server 2000 machine which points to the Pervasive machine. Problem is that for one I don't have a standalone ODBC driver for Pervasive. I could bypass this by installing a second version of Pervasive on the SQL Server 2000 machine and use the ODBC engines it automatically installs. But then comes the second problem. I cannot seem to create a ODBC with point to a server that is located on another server. When I use the odbc drivers Pervasive ships with its product, I can only create a ODBC to a database that is located on the same server.

Can anyone help me out here?

If you set up a DSN that points to a drive mapping on another server - that should be sufficient. That's what we do. Once you have that and your DDF in place you should be able to set up some kind of DTS job in SQL Server.

Hmm. that could be an option. What Pervasive ODBC driver do you use?

I forgot to mention we're still on p.sql 7 - not that it should make any difference as the principle doesn't change.

The ODBC driver that we use is:

Pervasive Software ODBC 32 2.50.02.02

Hope it helps
